FDA-approved medications only

Medication savings & manufacturer programs

Your YourMD physician sends your prescription directly to the appropriate pharmacy. Many of our medications have manufacturer savings programs, copay cards, and patient assistance that can significantly reduce your out-of-pocket cost.

This page has every link you need.

How this works: YourMD prescribes FDA-approved branded medications. We send your prescription to NovoCare (Novo Nordisk) or LillyDirect (Eli Lilly) on your behalf — you pay the pharmacy or manufacturer directly. YourMD collects only your clinical subscription fee. We have no financial relationship with any manufacturer.

Which pharmacy is right for me?

Your YourMD physician selects the pharmacy that best fits your clinical and financial situation. Here is a quick guide to the three paths.

Best savings · Manufacturer Direct

NovoCare or LillyDirect

Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly ship FDA-approved branded medications directly to you. Savings cards can bring your cost to $0/mo (insured) or $149–299/mo (self-pay).

  • Wegovy®, Ozempic®, Saxenda® → NovoCare
  • Zepbound®, Mounjaro®, Foundayo™ → LillyDirect
  • Prior authorization assistance included
  • No retail pharmacy trip required
Broadest access · Retail + Discount Card

CVS, Walgreens, Costco & others

Your prescription goes to any retail pharmacy. Use a free discount card (GoodRx, SingleCare, RxSaver) to reduce cost — often 40–80% off retail price on generic medications.

  • Works for most non-GLP-1 medications
  • Migraine, diabetes, ED, hair loss generics
  • Compare prices at multiple pharmacies
  • Free discount cards — no membership needed
Custom dosing · Compounding Pharmacy

503B-licensed compounding pharmacies

When branded GLP-1s are unavailable or unaffordable, your physician may prescribe a compounded version from an FDA-registered 503B outsourcing facility. Starting at $199/mo.

  • Semaglutide or tirzepatide base compound
  • Custom titration schedules available
  • 503B facility — not a compounding corner pharmacy
  • Only prescribed when clinically appropriate

Compare retail prices — free discount cards

For medications filled at a retail pharmacy, these free tools compare prices across every major chain. No membership required — just show the card (or app) at the counter.

GoodRx

The most widely accepted discount card. Works at 70,000+ pharmacies. Show on your phone — no physical card needed.

Semaglutide prices → Tirzepatide prices → Sildenafil (ED) prices → Finasteride (hair) prices → Rimegepant (migraine) prices →
Get free GoodRx card →
SingleCare

Often beats GoodRx on specific drugs — always worth comparing. Free, no registration required.

Semaglutide prices → Sildenafil prices → Finasteride prices → Metformin prices → Atogepant (migraine) prices →
Get free SingleCare card →
RxSaver

Powered by RetailMeNot. Strong on generic medications at warehouse clubs (Costco, Sam’s Club).

Semaglutide prices → Sildenafil prices → Finasteride prices → Metformin prices → Tadalafil (ED) prices →
Get free RxSaver card →
Tip: Discount cards cannot be combined with insurance. For branded GLP-1s (Wegovy, Zepbound), use the manufacturer savings card instead — it is nearly always cheaper than a discount card at retail. For generics (metformin, sildenafil, finasteride), discount cards usually beat insurance co-pays.

How your prescription gets to the pharmacy

1

Physician evaluates

Your YourMD board-certified physician reviews your intake and conducts a video or phone consultation.

2

Prescription written

If clinically appropriate, your physician writes a prescription in our YourmdRx system and routes it to the correct pharmacy.

3

Pharmacy fills

NovoCare, LillyDirect, or your retail pharmacy of choice receives the prescription electronically and contacts you to arrange payment and shipping.

4

Activate your savings

Use the links on this page to activate your copay card or savings program before your first fill — this can save you hundreds per month.

Prior authorization & patient assistance

Many branded medications require prior authorization from your insurance company. Here is what to expect for each drug — and how to get help.

Drug What to expect Resource
Wegovy / Ozempic Prior authorization commonly required. NovoCare has a dedicated PA support team. If denied, an appeal process is available. Patient assistance available for income-eligible uninsured patients. novocare.com
Zepbound / Mounjaro PA often required for Zepbound (obesity). Mounjaro (T2D) typically easier to approve. Having an OSA diagnosis documented alongside obesity helps Zepbound coverage significantly. lillydirect.com
Foundayo New approval (Apr 2026) — insurance coverage developing. Lilly savings card ($149–299/mo through Dec 2026) provides self-pay access while coverage expands. lillydirect.com
Nurtec ODT PA required by many plans. Pfizer's Migraine Patient Access Coordinator handles appeals directly. First fill at no cost while PA is pending — you won't be stuck waiting. 1-866-222-4183
Qulipta Most plans require step therapy (prior failure of ≥2 preventive agents — e.g. topiramate, propranolol). QULIPTA Complete provides a 2-month free bridge supply while PA is pending. Document prior treatment failures at your consultation. qulipta.com/savings
Farxiga Generally covered for T2D with PA. AZ&Me provides free medication for uninsured patients who qualify. Income-based eligibility applies. azandme.com
Jardiance Generally covered for T2D and heart failure. BI Cares provides free medication for uninsured patients. Savings card for commercially insured. 1-800-556-8317

Patient assistance programs — free or low-cost medication

If you are uninsured or underinsured and cannot afford your medication, manufacturer patient assistance programs (PAPs) may provide it free or at very low cost. Income limits apply. Your YourMD physician can write the necessary supporting documentation.
