Financial Policy

What YourMD charges, when it is charged, who charges it, and what happens if something is wrong.

Effective July 26, 2026 · United Medical Group, PLLC · Applies to all telehealth services on or after this date

The short version You pay for physician services. Medication, laboratory work and shipping are billed separately by the pharmacy or laboratory that provides them — not by us, and not at our prices. Subscriptions renew automatically each month and can be cancelled at any time from your portal with no fee. Your card is stored by our payment processor, never by us. If a charge looks wrong, contact us before your bank — we can usually fix it faster than a dispute can.

1. Who is billing you

More than one organisation may charge you in connection with your care, and confusing them is the single most common reason a patient believes they have been billed twice. They are separate:

Charged byForAppears as
United Medical Group, PLLC (YourMD) Physician services — consultations, asynchronous review, treatment-programme membership A YourMD charge in your portal under Billing
The dispensing pharmacy Medication, compounding, and shipping A separate charge from that pharmacy — not shown in your YourMD billing history
The performing laboratory Specimen collection, processing and reporting A separate charge or claim from that laboratory
Manufacturer pharmacy programmes
(NovoCare®, LillyDirect™)
GLP-1 medication supplied directly by the manufacturer A separate charge from that programme

YourMD care-only memberships and visit fees exclude medication costs. Other plans include medication only when expressly stated in the selected plan and checkout. A membership pays for the physician's time, evaluation, prescribing and ongoing monitoring.

Why we bill this way, and why we publish the split rather than quoting one bundled number, is explained in our pricing approach.

2. Self-pay pricing for visits

YourMD is a self-pay practice. You see the price before you confirm a visit, and that is the price charged — there are no booking fees, service fees or surcharges added afterwards.

Visit fees differ by how the visit happens (video, telephone or audio, live chat, or an asynchronous message visit reviewed without a live call). Current amounts are shown on the booking screen before you confirm, and on the treatments page.

Prices are not restated in this document on purpose. A figure written into a policy page goes out of date quietly, and a stale price in a financial policy is a misrepresentation. The booking screen is always current.

If you want to know how we arrive at a price rather than only what it is, we have written that up: what you'll actually pay, and how we decided it. It covers the pricing structures we considered, the ones we rejected, and what each decision cost us.

3. Memberships and treatment programmes

Some conditions are managed through an ongoing programme with a recurring monthly membership covering physician services: evaluation, prescribing, dose adjustment, monitoring, and messaging with your care team for that condition.

Other conditions — including most chronic disease management — are handled per visit rather than by subscription. Which applies is stated on the treatment page for that condition before you enrol.

A membership does not include medication. See section 8.

4. Subscription billing and automatic renewal

Memberships are recurring subscriptions that renew automatically each month on the anniversary of your enrolment, using the payment method on file, until you cancel.

Automatic renewal is genuinely automatic. If you no longer want a treatment, cancelling is the step that stops the charge. Stopping the medication, ignoring a renewal notice, or not booking a follow-up does not cancel a subscription.

5. Changing, pausing and cancelling

6. When a plan is retired

Plans occasionally change. If we retire a plan you are on, you receive at least 60 days' notice in your portal before anything changes, naming the plan you would move to and when. You can cancel or choose a different plan during that period. If migration increases your price, at least 90 days of advance notice is required before that price applies at renewal.

7. Missed appointments and late cancellations

A missed or cancelled visit is not a completed consultation. The proposed attendance policy remains a draft: $45 for qualifying no-shows, with the separate $25 late-cancellation provision. Fees require an effective policy disclosed and acknowledged before booking; publication alone does not activate them. No full-visit forfeiture applies merely because an appointment was booked or missed. Practice failures qualify for refunds under the Refund Policy.

8. Pharmacy and medication charges

YourMD does not sell medication and does not set medication prices. When a physician prescribes, the prescription goes to a pharmacy, and that pharmacy bills you directly for the medication and any shipping.

GLP-1 medication is supplied through the manufacturer's own pharmacy programme and billed by that programme, not by us.

9. Compounded medications

Some treatments are compounded by a licensed compounding pharmacy rather than supplied as a manufactured product. Before you can check out on a plan involving a compounded medication, you must review and acknowledge a separate disclosure explaining what that means. That acknowledgement is recorded with the date and version.

Compounded preparations are billed by the compounding pharmacy. Because they are prepared for an individual patient, a compounded medication that has been dispensed generally cannot be returned or refunded once it has left the pharmacy — this is a pharmacy and regulatory constraint, not a YourMD policy choice.

10. Laboratory fees

Where a physician orders laboratory testing, the laboratory that performs it bills for the collection, processing and reporting. Laboratory fees are not included in a visit fee or a membership.

If you have insurance, laboratory work is often the part most likely to be covered — but coverage is decided by your plan and the laboratory, not by us. Ask the laboratory for its price before the draw if cost matters to you; they can tell you and we frequently cannot.

11. Prior authorization

Some medications require your insurer to approve coverage before they will pay. Where that applies, we submit the prior authorization request and the supporting clinical information on your behalf at no additional charge.

A prior authorization is a request, not a promise. The decision belongs to your insurer. An approved prior authorization does not fix the price, and a denied one does not entitle you to a refund of the visit at which it was discussed — the physician's evaluation happened either way.

12. Insurance

YourMD physician services are self-pay. We do not currently bill commercial insurance, Medicare or Medicaid for consultations.

You can download an itemised receipt or invoice for any visit from Billing and submit it to your plan yourself. Whether they reimburse you is between you and your plan; we cannot predict it and do not guarantee it.

This does not prevent your insurance from covering medication or laboratory work billed by a pharmacy or laboratory — those are separate claims made by those organisations.

13. HSA and FSA

Telehealth consultations with a physician, and prescribed medication, are generally eligible expenses under a Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account, and you can normally pay with an HSA/FSA card or reimburse yourself against a receipt.

Eligibility is determined by your plan administrator and by IRS rules, not by us. Keep the itemised receipt from your portal — that is the documentation administrators ask for.

14. Stored payment methods and card authorization

YourMD does not store your card number. Payment cards are stored and processed by Stripe, our PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. What we hold is a token that lets us charge the card you authorised; it cannot be used anywhere else and does not reveal your card details.

By saving a card you authorise us to charge it for:

Requesting treatment does not charge your card. When you request a subscription treatment, your card is saved and authorised but is not charged until a physician has reviewed and approved the request. If the physician declines, there is nothing to refund because nothing was charged.

You can remove a stored card at any time from Billing. Removing the only card on an active subscription will cause the next renewal to fail, which will pause that treatment.

15. Refunds

The Refund Policy defines completion and refund eligibility for every consultation mode and booking channel.

A completed consultation means the clinician has completed the patient evaluation, communicated the assessment and care plan to the patient, and submitted the encounter note. This applies to video, phone, live chat and asynchronous consultations. For async care, the written clinical response must be delivered through the patient portal. Intake submission, payment, scheduling, opening a chart, preliminary review or an unanswered call alone does not complete a consultation.

A completed consultation remains chargeable when the clinician determines that no prescription is appropriate or recommends in-person care. Payment purchases professional evaluation, not a prescription or a guaranteed result. We honor any more favorable refund promise in the terms accepted for the purchase.

We refund undelivered consultations, consultations prevented by practice or platform failure, duplicate or erroneous charges, and renewal charges made after a valid cancellation took effect. A missed or cancelled appointment does not by itself justify retaining the full visit fee. Any separate attendance fee must have been effective, disclosed and acknowledged before booking; the proposed $45 no-show policy is not activated by this page.

Subscription inclusions are stated in the selected plan and checkout. Medication, shipping and lab costs are included only when expressly listed; they are not included in care-only memberships. Acne Care covers physician care and monthly async updates; your chosen retail pharmacy and local lab bill you or your insurance separately. YourMD does not pay or reimburse those charges.

Cancel a subscription in the patient portal, by emailing support@yourmd.online, or by calling (702) 430-7801. Cancellation stops future renewals and carries no subscription cancellation, early-termination or reinstatement fee. Current-period refunds remain available for undelivered services and the exceptions in the Refund Policy. Separate appointment attendance fees are not subscription cancellation fees.

Existing subscribers keep the price for a paid term. We provide at least 90 days' advance notice before an increase to an existing subscriber's price, including a migration that increases it, and apply it no earlier than a subsequent renewal after that notice. A plan retirement without a price increase requires at least 60 days' notice. Other material billing-policy changes require at least 60 days' notice and do not apply retroactively. A longer notice or more favorable promise already accepted is honored.

Please contact support about billing errors so we can help promptly. Contacting us first is encouraged, not required to exercise lawful bank or card-issuer dispute rights. A good-faith dispute is not a breach of these terms and does not by itself trigger a penalty or loss of access to medical records. Do not wait for our response if an issuer deadline is approaching.

16. Charge disputes

Contact support for help with billing errors. Contacting us first is optional and does not limit lawful issuer dispute rights or deadlines. A good-faith dispute is not a breach or grounds for a chargeback penalty. See the Refund Policy for details.

17. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes affecting what you are charged, or when, take effect for you at your next renewal or your next booking — not retroactively. Plan retirement requires at least 60 days' notice, or 90 days when it increases an existing subscriber's price.

The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
