Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about YourMD Telehealth services

General Questions

What is YourMD Telehealth?
YourMD Telehealth is a physician-led direct-to-consumer healthcare platform. We connect patients in Nevada, Washington, Oregon, and Wisconsin with a board-certified internal medicine physician via secure video, audio, or chat consultation for select non-emergency conditions and DTC subscription treatments. Services are not available in states outside our licensure.
How is YourMD different from other telehealth services?
YourMD stands out with:
  • Transparent tiered pricing: $20 chat, $40 audio, $50 video consultations
  • Physician-led care — every visit is with a board-certified MD, not a questionnaire or an AI
  • Complete electronic medical records, auditable and downloadable
  • HSA and FSA cards accepted for qualified services
  • Compounded medication program with transparent pharmacy-partner disclosure

Physicians may use optional AI-powered clinical decision-support tools to assist with documentation and reference lookup. All clinical decisions — diagnosis, prescribing, treatment — are made by the treating physician based on independent clinical judgment, not by AI.

What conditions can be treated through YourMD?
Our physicians can treat over 100 common conditions including:
  • Cold, flu, and COVID-19 symptoms
  • Allergies and sinus infections
  • Skin conditions (rashes, acne, etc.)
  • UTIs and yeast infections
  • Pink eye and ear infections
  • Mental health conditions (anxiety, depression)
  • Chronic disease management
  • Prescription refills for maintenance medications
For emergencies, always call 911 or visit your nearest emergency room.

Telehealth Process

How does a telehealth visit work?
The process is simple and convenient:
  1. Register: Create your free account in under 2 minutes
  2. Request Visit: Choose your provider and preferred time
  3. Complete Intake: Fill out a brief medical questionnaire
  4. Video Consultation: Meet with your provider via secure video
  5. Receive Treatment: Get your diagnosis and treatment plan
  6. Prescription: If needed, prescriptions are sent to your pharmacy
  7. Follow-up: Access your records and message your provider
How quickly can I see a doctor?
Intake submissions are reviewed by a YourMD physician within 24 hours, and often much sooner during business hours. On-demand video/audio consultations are available during posted availability windows, which vary by day. For scheduled consultations, we offer appointment slots across typical business hours and most evenings. For emergencies, do not wait for a YourMD response — call 911 or visit the nearest emergency department.
What technology do I need for a video visit?
You'll need:
  • A smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera
  • A stable internet connection
  • A web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge)
  • A quiet, private space for your consultation
No special software or app downloads are required. Our platform works directly in your web browser.

Insurance & HSA Information

New: HSA Cards Now Accepted for Telehealth!

Thanks to recent legislation, you can now use your Health Savings Account (HSA) card to pay for telehealth visits, even with high-deductible health plans. This makes quality healthcare more accessible and affordable than ever before.

Can I use my HSA card for telehealth visits?
Yes! Recent federal legislation now allows HSA cards to be used for telehealth services, even if you have a high-deductible health plan (HDHP). This means you can use pre-tax dollars for your YourMD consultations, saving you money on healthcare costs. Simply select HSA as your payment method during checkout.
Do you accept insurance?

No. YourMD Telehealth is a direct-to-consumer, cash-pay practice. We do not accept commercial insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid. We do not bill insurance companies and we do not submit claims on your behalf.

Our pricing is transparent and displayed upfront. Many patients find our rates competitive with — or lower than — typical insurance copays after deductible considerations.

Can I use my HSA or FSA card?

In most cases, yes. Federal legislation permits HSA and FSA use for qualified telehealth services. YourMD accepts HSA and FSA cards as payment methods, subject to your plan’s specific rules. Consult your HSA/FSA administrator if you have questions about eligibility for any specific service.

Can I submit a superbill to my insurance for reimbursement?

After each visit, you receive a receipt that includes provider information, date of service, and (where applicable) diagnosis and procedure codes. You may submit this receipt to your insurance company as an out-of-network claim. Reimbursement is entirely between you and your insurance company; YourMD does not coordinate with insurers and cannot guarantee reimbursement.

Nevada Telehealth Parity Law

For Nevada residents: Under Nevada's telehealth parity law, insurance companies cannot discriminate between in-network and out-of-network providers for telehealth services. This means:

  • Equal coverage for telehealth and in-person visits
  • No higher copays for telehealth services
  • Same deductible application as in-person care
  • Protection against network discrimination
How do I submit claims to my insurance?
After your visit, you'll receive a detailed receipt (superbill) that includes:
  • Provider information and NPI number
  • Date of service and CPT codes
  • Diagnosis codes (ICD-10)
  • Amount paid
You can submit this superbill to your insurance company for reimbursement. Many patients receive partial or full reimbursement depending on their plan benefits.
